The District Court has been vested with the powers to decide both Civil and Criminal Cases arising within the Jurisdiction of Hassan District. The District Court has administrative control over all the staff of Subordinate Courts working in the District.
The District Court is empowered to withdraw and transfer suits, appeals, or other proceedings pending before the District Court or in any other Court in the District to any subordinate court in the District competent to try such suits or proceedings for disposal.
The District & Sessions Court, Hassan, is established as per G.O. No. LAW 135 CAD 63 (VIII) dated 27 September 1965 and started functioning from 01 November 1965. The number of Talukas Hassan District consists of Eight (8) Taluks viz., Hassan, Alur, Arasikere, Arakalagudu, Beluru, Channarayapatna, Holenarasipura, Sakaleshapura.
